Redeeming Love: by Francine Rivers
I was so excited to finally get this book! I have heard nothing but great things about this book. Everything from being life changing to completely consuming. This is the first fiction Christian book I have ever read.
Here is the summary:
California’s gold country, 1850. A time when men sold their souls for a bag of gold and women sold their bodies for a place to sleep. Angel expects nothing from men but betrayal. Sold into prostitution as a child, she survives by keeping her hatred alive. And what she hates most are the men who use her, leaving her empty and dead inside. Then she meets Michael Hosea. A man who seeks his Father’s heart in everything, Michael Hosea obeys God’s call to marry Angel and to love her unconditionally. Slowly, day by day, he defies Angel’s every bitter expectation until, despite her resistance her frozen heart begins to thaw. But with her unexpected softening come overwhelming feelings of unworthiness and fear. And so Angel runs. Back to the darkness, away from her husband’s pursuing love, terrified of the truth she can no longer deny: Her final healing must come from the One who loves her even more than Michael Hosea does…the One who will never let her go. A life-changing story of God’s unconditional, redemptive, all-consuming love. Over 1 million copies sold!
Sun Stand Still: by Pastor Steven Furtick
I am a huge huge fan of Pastor Steven Furtick. He is the lead pastor at Elevation Church which is far beyond defining all odds against it. Pastor Steven and everyone at elevation are complete 110% sold out to provide everyone with the knowledge to become able to have audacious faith. One of my favorite quotes, "Passionate Christianity should be the norm for every believer- not the exception." -Stovall Weems This has been one of my favorite quotes ever sense I came to know Christ personally. This book is completely about that!
Here is the summary
"This book is not a Snuggie. The words on these pages will not go down like Ambien. I’m not writing to calm or coddle you. With God’s help, I intend to incite a riot in your mind. Trip your breakers and turn out the lights in your favorite hiding places of insecurity and fear. Then flip the switch back on so that God’s truth can illuminate the divine destiny that may have been lying dormant inside you for years.
In short, I’m out to activate your audacious faith. To inspire you to ask God for the impossible. And in the process, to reconnect you with your God-sized purpose and potential."

As I start on this journey of reading both of these books I'm going to blog and give you updates on both books! If you have read these books before I'd love to hear you feedback! I also urge you to read these books yourself! :)
